7TV Emote Upload Guidelines

Read before uploading: ensure your emote complies with our rules to avoid rejection or loss of upload access.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Before uploading an emote to 7TV, it’s important to understand and follow our emote rules. This ensures the platform remains safe, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.

🛠️ Submission & Review Process

  • Every emote — whether public, private, edited, or re-uploaded — is placed in a moderation queue.

  • Our moderators check submissions for rule violations.

  • Review time varies based on language and queue size — please allow a few days.

  • Do not re-upload the same emote to try and skip the line — it won’t help and may delay approval.

🚫 What’s Not Allowed

Hateful Content

  • Racism, homophobia, or slurs (including slur baiting)

  • Offensive stereotypes or hate symbols (e.g. swastikas, Nazi salutes, military “Z”)

  • Desecration of national flags

  • Content supporting war, genocide, or discrimination

  • Glorification of violent crimes (e.g. school shooters)

  • Emotes that indirectly imply any of the above

Violence & Disturbing Themes

  • Gore or graphic injuries

  • Death or depictions of suicide

  • Bodily fluids or excessive violence

Applies to both real and drawn imagery

Nudity & Sexual Content

  • No visible genitals or underbust

  • No see-through or extremely thin clothing covering private areas

  • No sexualized underage characters (e.g. “lolis”)

  • Mild “gasm” or lewd expressions are allowed if not explicit

Other Restrictions

  • No individual letters or characters as standalone emotes

  • No low-effort, spam, or extremely low-quality uploads

  • No uploading former or active sub emotes unless you’re the original streamer (or have permission)

  • No mosaics larger than 3×3 (9 emotes max) — large sets clog the queue

Context Matters

Rules are applied based on:

  • Emote name

  • Tags

  • Visual content

  • Combinations of emotes

Uploading multiple emotes that form a pattern or message violating the rules will also be moderated.

What Happens if I Break the Rules?

  • Emotes may be renamed, deleted, or unlisted

  • Unlisted emotes won’t appear in public search or the emote catalog

  • Repeated violations can lead to upload restrictions

Editor Responsibility

If you assign someone as an editor, you’re responsible for their uploads.
If you can’t trust them to follow these rules — don’t add them.
