Chat - Site Layout Settings

The Chat tab under Site Layout in the 7TV Extension allows you to declutter your Twitch chat area by hiding elements you don’t need.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To access these options, click the 7TV logo at the top right of Twitch or Kick, then navigate to:
Settings → Site Layout → Chat

Hide Channel Leaderboard

Removes the leaderboard banner often displayed at the top of chat, which shows top gifters or cheerers for the channel.

Good if you want a distraction-free chat or don't care for competitive stats.

Hide Chat Input Box

Hides the “Send a message” field. Note that this also removes the visible 7TV settings icon, though it can still be accessed from the top right of the page.

⚠️ Use with caution if you still plan to interact in chat or adjust 7TV settings regularly.

Hide Buttons Below Chatbox

Removes utility buttons below the chat input field, such as channel point icons, chat settings, or quick-access emote panels.

Ideal for users who never use these buttons and want a tidier layout.

Hide Stream Chat Bar

Hides the horizontal bar just above chat that typically says “Stream Chat” or similar.

Reduces visual clutter above chat content.

Hide Community Highlights

Removes the flashier elements like hype train banners, Twitch drops notifications, and pinned messages that appear at the top of the chat box.

Useful for keeping things text-focused.

Hide Community Challenge Contributions

Prevents notifications about other viewers contributing to community challenges from appearing in chat.

Good for staying focused on actual chat messages without unnecessary noise.

Hide Pinned Hype Chats

Disables the display of pinned hype chat messages — a newer Twitch feature that elevates big donations, subs, or bits in a chat leaderboard-like format.

For a simpler, less monetized chat feed.
