Interface - Appearance

Control how UI elements behave and where emote tools are positioned within the chat interface.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Interface subtab under Appearance allows you to personalize how 7TV integrates visually and interactively with your Twitch or Kick chat interface. This section is particularly useful for customizing the feel of your emote experience, as well as optimizing performance or visibility.

Use UI Transparency

Enables a blurred, see-through background in parts of the UI, creating a modern and sleek appearance.

Note: May slightly impact performance on lower-end systems.

Emote Menu: Default Emote Tab

Selects the default tab (7TV, Twitch, BTTV, etc.) when opening the emote menu. This determines which emotes you see first.

Emote Menu: Most Used Emotes

When enabled, this displays your most frequently used emotes in the emote menu for faster access.

Temporarily disabled due to performance issues at the time of writing.

Emote Menu: Live Input Search

Switches the emote search bar to use the main message input box, rather than the dedicated menu search. Ideal for quicker navigation via keyboard.

Emote Menu Button Placement

Customize the placement of the emote menu button next to the chat box:

  • Regular – Default 7TV button placement.

  • Below Input – Restores the native Twitch emote menu location.

  • Hidden – Hides the button entirely (you can still use hotkeys or tab-completion).

Sidebar Stream Thumbnails

Toggle the display of stream preview thumbnails when hovering over streamers in the sidebar.

Sidebar Expand on Hover

Automatically expands the Twitch sidebar when you hover your mouse over it β€” useful if you like keeping the sidebar collapsed until needed.
