Style - Chat

Customize the appearance of chat messages, emotes, timestamps, and more.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Style tab under the Chat section allows you to personalize the visual presentation of messages in Twitch or Kick chat. From emote layout to timestamp formatting, these options give you full control over how your chat looks and feels.

Alternating Background Color

Applies subtle shading to every other chat message, improving readability by separating each line visually.

Emote Spacing

Adjusts the space between emotes in chat messages. You can reduce spacing to create a more compact look, or allow overlapping with negative values for stylistic effects.

Emote Scale

Scales the size of emotes in chat. Increase or decrease their display size independently of text.

Show Emote Modifiers

Displays unsupported modifier tags used by extensions like BTTV or FFZ (e.g. {!w}, ffzHyper). These won’t affect how emotes appear but can help you identify modifier use.

/me Style

Changes how /me messages are styled. You can choose to have them stand out (e.g. colored) or match the style of standard messages.

Padding Style

Controls how much vertical spacing appears around each line in chat. Choose between more compact or more padded layouts based on your preference.

Font Size

Adjusts the size of text in chat messages. If set to "default," the font will follow Twitch’s appearance settings.

Mention Style

Customizes how your own username appears when someone mentions you in chat. Helps make mentions more visible or subtle depending on your chosen style.

Deleted Message Style

Determines how deleted messages are shown in chat. You can choose to dim, cross out, or completely hide them.

Timestamp Seconds

Adds seconds to the timestamp format in chat, giving you more detailed timing on each message.

Timestamp Format

Allows you to set a custom timestamp format or inherit it from your device’s locale settings.

Hide Bits From Community Points Button

Removes the Bits value shown under the community points button in the chatbox UI, simplifying the interface.

Hide Shared Chat

Hides messages from shared or merged chat channels, such as squad streams or collaborative events.
