For streamers: Learn how to build and manage your channel’s emote set on 7TV.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Adding emotes to your 7TV channel lets your viewers engage more expressively in chat. Whether you're uploading your own or selecting from public favorites, managing your channel's emotes is quick and easy.

Requirements

To add emotes to a channel on 7TV, you must:

  • Be the channel owner (via a connected platform like Twitch or Kick),
    or

  • Be an editor with the appropriate permissions

Adding Emotes to a Channel

Navigate to https://7tv.app/

Locate the 'Emotes' tab.

Search or find an emote you would like to add.

After choosing an emote, in this example, duckPls, press 'Add to...'

On this screen, you may change the emote name for the channel/emote set and then select the emote set you would like to add the emote to.

After selecting the emote set for a channel, click 'Confirm Change' and the emote will be added to that emote set. (Remember to enable that set in your settings)

Want to upload something brand new? Use the Upload guide and get creative.

Channel vs. Personal Emotes

  • Channel emotes appear for everyone in your stream’s chat (if they have 7TV installed)

  • Personal emotes are just for your account, visible across all chats.

Letting Editors Help

If you have trusted moderators or artists, you can assign them as Editors with permissions to manage emotes for you. Learn how in:
