Getting Started with the 7TV Extension (Onboarding Tour)
Just installed the 7TV browser extension? You’ll be greeted with an intuitive onboarding tour designed to personalize your experience — whether you're a chatter, moderator, or streamer.
This first-time setup helps you:
Choose which platforms to use 7TV on
Answer a few quick questions about how you use chat
Configure chat visuals, behavior, and moderation tools
Personalized Setup
After selecting your platforms (like Twitch, YouTube [Currently Unavailable], or Kick), the extension will ask a series of questions to tailor your setup. Depending on how you answer (e.g. “Are you a streamer?”, “Do you chat a lot?”), it’ll guide you through suggested settings for your role.
💡 The onboarding goes into depth on every setting it presents, so you don’t have to worry about understanding everything in advance. Just follow along, and you’ll get a quick breakdown of what each toggle does and how it impacts your chat.
Things You’ll Configure
Here’s an overview of what you’ll be able to set up within the onboarding:
Platforms – Enable 7TV on Twitch or Kick
Chat Style – Tweak how messages are displayed and how fast they load
Notifications – Choose how you’re alerted when someone mentions you
Streamer Tools – Emote filtering, performance optimizations, and more
Mod Tools – Enable the mod slider for easy moderation
Chat Power Features – Duplicate message bypass, auto channel point claim, quick send, and autocomplete tools
Compatibility Check – Optionally scan for conflicting extensions
You can skip any part of the tour or come back and tweak everything later.
Supporting 7TV (Optional❤️)
At the end of the tour, you’ll be invited to consider subscribing to 7TV. Subscriptions unlock perks like:
Animated avatars
Name paints
Personal emotes
Badges and cosmetics
But more importantly, your subscription helps fund the service entirely.

After Setup
Once you finish onboarding:
You’ll be redirected to your platform of choice
Your settings will be saved automatically
You can join the Discord, leave a review, or follow us for updates
To make changes later, just:
Click the 7TV icon in the top right of Twitch or Kick.
Access full settings anytime, no reinstall required.
